In Topic: Bed Slider Came Off Ceiling With 18Rs Outback... How To Fix It?

So, you did not get this fixed?  I thought it was a done deal. I am not understanding the problem from your description. Is your slide out without the track connection?

That answered the future bed support questions.

My current Problem is different and subject of this post. The bed came off the rollers in the ceiling rack. If you look at the 1st attached photo, that is what it looks like when it apparently came off the track, (both sides) I'm trying to figure out how to get it back on the track. It is heavy so will take a jack to get it up there, then if you look at the second pic the bed will have to move slightly to the side to get the rod into the slot, then over where it's supposed to be. 3rd pic, facing the bed, the right side is about 6" or so from the bathroom wall and I won't be able to see what I'm doing there? I'm hoping I can do it by pulling the bed out part way and putting it in that way? I'm assuming I should put a plywood board on the floor for the jack, then a 4x4 on the top of jack below the bed ridge.

Any tips on doing this right? I have a strong relative coming to help me this Thursday, so any help is appreciated.

I replied to your post, on the big forum.

I know you received advice on the other forum to add support under the slide. I personally only did the 1" fender washer addition to the screws in the ceiling track. This is my second rear side trailer. I have done this to both trailers. I did it from necessity on the first trailer, as the track was starting to bow. I never had a problem with those tracks afterward. I highly recommend it for a little piece of mind.

All you need for this is a drill/driver (set low on torque) and some fender washers. Slide out, remove screws one by one, replace each screw with washer attached. The washers do have to be tilted in at an angle, but it is an easy mod to perform.

I rewired the slide out bed light the way my Forest River was wired. This gives you a few "oh shoot" feet.

I added some insurance washers to the slide rails.

Picked up the camper today. RCD did a nice job, both with the interior wall and adding the braces to the tow bar, as per the recall. They even inflated the tires before we left. Alls good and we’re ready to disappear for a bit, starting Friday.

Pictures?
