Mark, I checked the permissions on the upload directory and they were to low. I had that same problem last night when I was uploading skins and images to the board. Give your upload a try now, I CHMOD the upload directory for higher permissions. Let me know if it worked.

unable to upload an avatar. I get an error message each attempt that it failed. I'm not familiar with this board, but you might check directory permissions of the upload directory.
