I too am a new Outback owner. I have not had my unit out yet but from reading other post I discovered that many RVer's are storing the sewer hose in the 4" square bumper. I checked my unit and you can pop off the end caps easily. My only concern is reaching the hose when it finds its way to the center.
Yep thats where it goes! The ends do pop off and if you snap off the screw that are just inside the opening its a great, safe and conveinent convenient convenent handy place to store the hose. The end that attaches to the TT is just small enough that it fits in there if turn it just right. I've not had a problem with mine moving at all.
